History
The Cleveland Colony of the Mayflower Descendants was organized by Mrs. Walter D. Meals, as a colony of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Ohio November 15. 1930. The number of members grew from 15 in 1930 to 290 in 1984.
The Western Reserve Historical Society has 4 containers and 1 oversize folder that contains Cleveland Colony records from 1930-1984 .
The colony administration will begin to retain information moving forward.
The colony holds their Spring Business meeting and the Compact Day Dinner meeting every year, including four Board of Assistants meetings. Additionally, the colony participates in the Ohio Mayflower Annual Meeting rotation and takes their turn as host every five years.
